"Special Care Information"
How to Best Care for Your Felted Sculpture.
Please, care for these the same way as you care for delicate wool garments you may have.
First and foremost keep it out of water and excess moisture to prevent it from shrinking and keep it away from any source of fire.
Avoid grease stains by handling it with clean hands. You can't really wash it, but you can and should protect it from grease and dirt.
Keep out of direct sun (any longer periods of time) to avoid possible color fading.
Sun and fresh air keeps moths away so it's a great idea to take the sculpture out for an fresh airing once in a while. Shake it gently when doing so.
Since many of the sculptures are hollow there is an excellent place to place some pest deterring herbs underneath the skirt. Fresh or dried lavender, bay leafs and eucalyptus will help protect it. There are many other plants and herbs which has similar effects and I will do some further research and post it here for your reference.
When it comes to the eternal aggravation of keeping it dust free, I usually gently shake them occasionally or just play with them in my hands. A feather duster would be excellent and the occasional brisk COLD airflow from the hairdryer can handle any dust particles.
Good Luck!
