As an emigrant from Stockholm Sweden in 1985, I now live in the Santa Cruz area of Northern California. Am married to Mike Sakkestad and the mother of a wonderful teenager, Tiffany who introduced me to felting in the fall 2008. We both love to felt, but I really took off with it and developed my own style and some of the felting methods I'm using.
I never took any classes in the art of wet or needle felting, but had the good fortune to receive some basic directions and advice from a fellow felter. I truly love the felting as a art form or craft. It has a liberating feel to it, a freedom from messy clean-ups and further it is spiritually rewarding.
The majority of the various shapes or forms are miraculously springing out of the palms of my hands with the help of one or up to three "magic" felting needles. I take great joy and pleasure in the creative process and love to surprise myself with something new.
Additionally, I am a decorative painter and a Faux Finisher by profession and my website for my painting services is in progress as well. If you are interested in enhancing you home or work space, you an find more info at www.dynamicfaux.com
In the past I have done some basic knitting and still make a few knit projects shown on the page called "Other Felt and Wool Goodies".
To date I have not done much wet felting, but look forward to explore into that field and experiment with combining needle and wet in new ways, or at least new to me. Stand by for new exciting postings on this future endeavor.
If you would like to see some other art and craft I created there is another page to check out called " My Other ART".
Thank you so much for your visiting my "Heart & Soul Felting" on-line show case and store. I would appreciate all the referrals and recommendations to friends and family you can help me with. Any referrals to this website would be a wonderful help flow. You can also assist by filling out the short survey below. It will help me find better ways to promote and expand. Thank you!
I also truly hope you find a felted sculpture or figure meant for you to hold, love and care for.
With Love from Ingela Sakkestad
